Translating and Rotating Objects

If required, you can translate and rotate the currently selected dataset(s) in a scene, as well as apply such manipulations to regions of interest, multi-ROIs, meshes, and annotations. These tools appear in the selected 2D view, as shown below, when you click the Displace button on the Translate/Rotate panel.

You can translate and rotate selected objects as described below. See Selecting Objects for information about selecting multiple objects.

Translate… Drag the Translate icon in any direction to translate the selected object(s) in the current view.

Rotate… If required, first drag the Pivot Point icon to change the pivot position. Drag the Rotate icon to rotate the selected object(s).

Displace

When selected, the Translate and Scale icons appear in the selected 2D view.

Undo

Undoes the manipulation(s) that is currently applied to the selected object(s). You should note that multiple undo levels are available.

Note The Undo button can also be used to undo transformations applied through functions such as aligning centroids and registrations, as well as changes applied in the Advanced Dataset Properties panel to the position in space of a dataset or to its orientation.

If selected, other axis representations of the selected object(s) will be updated in real time while you make your adjustments. If not the related MPR views will be updated at the end of a manipulation.

4 quadrants

If selected, the 2D views in the workspace will be divided into four quadrants, with the quadrants on the top left and bottom right showing one dataset and the remaining quadrants showing another dataset. This arrangement can help you align features within the visible datasets, as shown in the following screen capture, and is most often used for manually registering datasets.

Note The topmost dataset in the Data Properties and Settings panel will be visible in the quadrants on the top right and bottom left. To switch the positions of the datasets, you will need to re-order the datasets in the Data Properties and Settings panel (see Reordering Items in the List ).
